Resolve the "SSL is not enabled" error in DirectAdmin
Seeing "SSL is not enabled" when you click SSL Certificates means the domain was added without the Secure SSL flag. DirectAdmin blocks certificate management until that option is turned on in Domain Setup.
1. Log in to DirectAdmin
-
Browse to your DirectAdmin URL—usually
example.com:2222, substituting your hostname or domain. -
Enter your DirectAdmin username and password.
PosaHosting shortcut
Access DirectAdmin directly from My Account
2. Enable Secure SSL on the domain
-
Open Domain Setup from the DirectAdmin menu.
-
Click the domain that needs SSL support.
-
Tick the Secure SSL checkbox.
-
Click Save Changes to apply the setting.
3. Confirm SSL Certificates opens
-
Return to the main dashboard and click SSL Certificates under Advanced Features (or Account Manager, depending on your skin).
-
The SSL management page should load without the error. You can now request a Let's Encrypt certificate for the domain.
