Deploy WordPress via Softaculous

Softaculous ships with every PosaHosting shared hosting plan and handles WordPress deployment in minutes—no manual uploads or database setup required. The walkthrough below covers both cPanel and DirectAdmin.

1. Open your control panel

  1. Point your browser at the hosting login URL for your account. On most servers, cPanel listens on port 2083 (yourdomain.com:2083) and DirectAdmin on port 2222 (yourdomain.com:2222).

Skip hunting for the URL—launch your panel directly from My Account

  2. Authenticate with the username and password supplied when your hosting was provisioned.

2. Launch Softaculous

  1. From the dashboard, scroll to Software on cPanel or Extra Features on DirectAdmin.

  2. Click Softaculous Apps Installer to open the application catalogue.

3. Select WordPress

WordPress appears among the featured apps on the Softaculous home screen. You can also browse to it under the Blog category if you prefer the full list view.

4. Configure and run the installer

On the WordPress overview page, hit Install. Softaculous then presents a form—work through each section before confirming.

Domain and path

  • Choose Protocol — Pick http:// or https:// depending on whether SSL is already active for the domain.
  • Choose Domain — Select the domain that should host the site.
  • In Directory — Leave empty to install at the document root. Enter a folder name (e.g. blog) to install into a subdirectory instead.

Site identity

  • Site Name — The public title shown across your WordPress installation.
  • Site Description — A short tagline or summary for the site.

Administrator credentials

  • Admin Username — The login name for the WordPress dashboard (avoid admin if possible).
  • Admin Password — A strong, unique password for the administrator account.
  • Admin Email — An address used for password resets and system notifications.

Extras (optional)

  • Choose Language — Set the default locale for the installation.
  • Select Plugins and Themes — Pre-install popular add-ons during setup if you want a head start.
  • Advanced Options — Override the database name, table prefix, or other low-level settings when you have specific requirements.

When every field looks correct, click Install again. Softaculous provisions the database, copies files, and finishes within a minute or two.

5. After installation

A confirmation screen appears with your site URL, admin login link, and the credentials you chose. Copy these somewhere secure before closing the page.

Your live site is reachable at the URL shown on that screen. Sign in to /wp-admin with the administrator username and password you set during setup to begin building content.
