Restore files with JetBackup

PosaHosting provisions JetBackup on every web hosting plan. The tool captures rolling snapshots of your account and lets you roll back data from inside cPanel or DirectAdmin—no ticket required for standard restores.

1. Sign in and open JetBackup

  1. Visit your panel login URL. cPanel is typically reachable at yourdomain.com:2083; DirectAdmin at yourdomain.com:2222.

One-click panel access is available from My Account

  2. Enter your hosting username and password.

  3. From the dashboard, open the jetBackup icon or menu entry.

2. Pick a restore type

JetBackup groups snapshots by scope. The main choices appear on the landing screen:

Two restore modes cover most situations:

Full account snapshots

A Full restore rewinds the entire hosting account to the chosen date. Anything created or modified after that snapshot disappears. Reserve this option for catastrophic failures—not for recovering a single missing file.

Home directory snapshots

Home Directory restores let you cherry-pick individual files or folders from a snapshot. This is the safer, more common path when you accidentally delete a script, image, or configuration file.

3. Run a full restore

  1. Click the Full Backups tile.
  2. Choose the snapshot date you want to return to.
  3. Click Restore and confirm if prompted.

The job queues immediately. Open the Queue tab inside JetBackup to watch progress.

4. Run a selective home directory restore

  1. Click the Home Directory tile.
  2. Select the snapshot date that contains the files you need.
  3. Click Change Files Selection to browse the snapshot contents:

  4. Tick the checkboxes beside each file or folder to recover. Existing files with the same path will be overwritten. When your selection is complete, click Select Files.

  5. Click Restore to queue the job.

Monitor the Queue page for status updates until the restore finishes.
